Good Start- Harvard University Purchased Database of Chinese Historical Works

At the beginning of the new year of 2019, Erudition’s digital products ushered in a new sales rush. Not long ago, Harvard University in the United States ordered Database of Chinese Historical Works I which was introduced by Erudition recently. By doing so, Harvard University made itself the first user of Erudition Database of Chinese Historical Works in the world, and the number of Erudition’s digital products that it owns reaches 16 databases and 24 collections, continuing leading the world.

It should be pointed out that Database of Chinese Historical Works I, Database of Buddhist classics I, and Database of Chinese Ancient Personal Writings II are all the latest products introduced by Erudition at the end of 2018. Database of Chinese Historical Works I includes 2,000 kinds of historical records, such as official history, privately compiled history, chronicles, Benmo history, unofficial history and so on, which is unprecedented in scale. The whole database is made by using Erudition’s digital reconstruction technology of ancient books, with reproduced pages, a page-by-page left and right text, and accessible type-in mode of notes, commentaries at the top of a page, interlinear notes, charts, and markers, which can be displayed in non-embedded form in the original place. It can realize full-text retrieval at millisecond level, download and print, thus it is a powerful tool for studying Chinese history. It is believed that Database of Chinese Historical Works I will be the first choice for academic institutions to construct the digital resources of Chinese traditional culture, and will contribute to the burgeoning research of data mining in history circles at home and abroad.
